REST!
OK, year end 2008 is rapidly approaching. It, therefore, is time to reflect. I have a few questions:
- Did you have 2008 goals?
- Did TitanFit help you meet those 2008 goals?
- What are your 2009 goals?
- What can we do to ensure you meet those goals?
- What was the hardest WOD for 2008
- Easiest?
- What keeps you coming back?
2009 is an opportunity for all of us to make changes...be they diet, number of workouts, types of workouts, treating other better or being the best you that you can be. We are here to help. Stop in and let us know what we can do better and let us know how we can help you get better.

1. Did you have 2008 goals?
Did not have any specific goals for 08 - except keep up with CF - I started in May, and have to say i have improved 1000%! I don't scale WODs anymore (except eva) and Anytime i beat some of these guys in the gym i feel like i am doing pretty good - But there is a lot of improvement still needed and CF has motivated me to continue to improve my weaknesses!
2. Did TitanFit help you meet those 2008 goals?
Heck yea! The program that Herb puts out is great - and if i can't do the HQ WOD I do Titanfit WOD - most commonly the TitanFit WOD is posted on the HQ Site a few days later - so I feel like Herb knows what he is posting! Everyone at Titanfit has helped me some how - herb teaching me to keep my knees out - or Kurt just pushing me harder through the WODs - I would not be happy with my results if i was doing CF elsewhere!
3. What are your 2009 goals?
I want to get to the CF games - and at least make it in the top 25%! It will be tough this year because there is a lot of powerful people doing CF and I will have to make it past the regionals but I want to give it a shot!
I also want to dial in my Diet - It has come a long way in the last 2 months - but I feel like my Performance will improve when I prefect my diet!
4. What can we do to ensure you meet those goals?
Keep doing what you are doing!
5. What was the hardest WOD for 2008?
Randy - I have the TFRecord - but it was f*ing hard!
6. Easiest?
none - If I say there was an easy WOD i would be lying! but WODs like Rowing - Eva may appear easier for me because of the 5k row that is rest for me.... but not easy!
7. What keeps you coming back?
Each day I feel better about myself - I have more energy - I am more motivated to try something new - I always want to beat Kurt in the WOD - I always want to set PR's - I want to help others be better!
1. Did you have 2008 goals?
Yes. to do more workout than the year before. to get under 9:00 for Fran. to improve my squat
2. Did TitanFit help you meet those 2008 goals?
Sure. trying to beat the others helps keep me motivated to work on my weaknesses. CF is much better in a group setting vs. alone
3. What are your 2009 goals?
Get better at BURPEES! there, i said it.
4. What can we do to ensure you meet those goals?
More burppes in the WODs, no that can't be good.
5. What was the hardest WOD for 2008?
Linda. I hate all things named Linda
6. Easiest?
Anything that involved bench pressing. i love to BP.
7. What keeps you coming back?
Living the brand. that and hope i beat Berg, Fouts and or Fuller in a MetCon WOD that doesn't involve BPing.
1. Did you have 2008 goals?
I didn't have any goals, per se, but my ultimate goal is to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. Obviously the is easily attainable by doing CrossFit.
2. Did TitanFit help you meet those 2008 goals?
Refer to question number one. But yes, TitanFit helped me achieve my goal by virtue of being a CrossFit affiliate. The staff and members of TitanFit continually push us through the WODs and breed an atmosphere of excellence.
3. What are your 2009 goals?
My 2009 goals, initially, were to compete in the regional qualifiers for the CrossFit games. Unfortunately, I am taking the Professional Engineers exam in April, so studying for that is my main priority throughout the first few months of the new year.
4. What can we do to ensure you meet those goals?
As stated above, I don't really have any "goals" for 2009. However, to assist in meeting ALL of my goals, the TitanFit staff could eliminate ALL rowing from the WODs.
5. What was the hardest WOD for 2008?
3 rounds of
800 M run
21 - 1.5 pood Kettlebell swings
21 - 95 pound Thrusters
21 - Pull-ups
Time = 35:26
Hands down the most difficult by far!
6. Easiest?
None of them are easy. If they are, you're not pushing yourself hard enough and the results will stagnate. But any type of squatting seems to come to me easier than it does for most people.
7. What keeps you coming back?
The TitanFit crew. And because you never know when we might have a post-WOD beer!
1. I did have some goals for 08'. One was to make my health a priority. So joining Titan fit did that for sure...
2. Yes. It has also help motivate me for my revenge match against our students, in the student faculty basketball game...we will NOT lose this year.
3. We will NOT lose this year. Another goal would be to improve my fitness.
4. Continue to vary the workouts. A part of me would like to record my times but I know we do them so infrequent it may not matter.
5. Burpees and deadlift...burpees and anything.
6. my deadlift days, although I need to remove seth from the board on that soon....
7. The group, the workouts, the motivation, and the feeling after the workouts....knowing that I have WORKED OUT.
Titanfit is a GREAT group of diverse people and that is what I enjoy the most.
1.I had many goals for 2008. My main goal was to improve my strength and Olympic lifting. I also wanted to be able to do double-unders.
2.Yes. I improved my CrossFit total max by about 200lbs with Herb’s help. By getting tips from several people I was able to figure out double-unders and finally was able to do 50 in a row.
3.2009 Goals? I have about several. Mainly to continue to improve strength and also to decrease time in the named workouts while actually improving my form/technique.
4.I know already that by continuing to work-out with Herb and the group at TitanFit, I will meet these goals.
5.Hardest WOD? There were many! Probably Murph because it is so long and grueling and I did it on a day that was almost 90F.
6.Easiest? None are easy if you do them with intensity. Since I am pretty good at push-ups and bodyweight exercises, WOD’s like Cindy are easier for me than ones with heavy lifting.
7.I keep coming back because of what I have learned from Herb. I also love the group atmosphere. Everyone is extremely supportive. I am motivated by the success of others I see all around me. I cannot think of a single person who has come consistently this year who hasn’t made impressive improvements in at least some aspect of their fitness.
